Taylor Swift on SNL
I personally really like Taylor Swift. She writes her own songs, plays the guitar, sings, and is gorgeous. And after watching SNL it is obvious that she is also funny. But I wish she played out the Kanye West incident a little more, maybe she took the more mature approach but I wanted some good Kanye dissing. Anyways go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1decRVDV0U to see Taylor on SNL. What do you think about her performance?

I watched her monologue (la la la) this morning and thought it was great. I read that she wrote it herself, which is impressive knowing that most of the hosts of the show contribute and have input but have the monologue written for them.
I think that the reason this is so funny and appealing is because it's all about revenge--against Joe (hm, which Joe is she referring to? I wonder...) and Kanye West. That kind of humor is always successful, because the audience is rooting for you, and it's so satisfying watching someone act out a witty way to get back at someone else.
That was really good! I admire her for taking the whole kanye incident very well. She acted maturely and kept her composure which definitely made kanye look even worse.
I think her snl monologue was successful because she wrote it herself as Ari stated. You could tell that she enjoyed doing it because it was about what she was feeling. Also, she is doing a good job at playing up the things that are going to win her support, sympathy, and increase her popularity. I think it is a smart move for her career. It was a good monologue song and very clever.
I just watched her snl monologue on youtube. I must say it was pretty funny! I'm glad she's being mature about the whole incident with Kanye. Also, she's a good role model for teenagers unlike other teen celebrities. She has not only inspired many teenagers, but is also very successful.
I watched SNL last night and personally I thought it was one of the funniest ones in a long time. Her monologue was very creative and well done, as stated by everyone else, but she also held her own with the cast and is actually a really good actress/comedian. My favorites were the parody of Twilight, Firelight, and the PSA about the dangers of being in the car while your parents are driving.
I agree with Yvonne. She is being mature about the whole Kanye incident and she is such a positive person. I agree, she is really successful and even inspires me, including many teens out there. It's really awesome how she can she can get back at someone else with such wit and humor. It's very satisfying.
I saw this show yesterday and I have to admit that I was impressed with Ms. Swift, whose general style of music isn't in my wheelhouse. But she was funny, it was obvious that her performance was truly live and not lip-synced, and she writes her own music. It is hard to believe that she is your age. Plus, the news segment was up to its usual high standard.
I like to see people like Taylor handle difficult situations the way she did, and her SNL monologue was impressive especially given that she performed live, and clearly won over her audience with it. but the first minute of talking before the monologue was overly coached and ingenuine sounding. She spoke of her feelings almost like she was deliberately making a joke out of them...
I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT and her songs!!!! Her monologue song was super good and I also can't believe she is our age as well. I (as well as many other girls)can relate to all of her songs and she is a role model which is hard to find these days in the celebrity world.

She took care of that situation like A BOSS. I thought this SNL piece is well thought out and she actually meant what she was saying because she wrote it herself. It has a greater pizaaaz to it. I love how she plots against Joe. Ari, it's Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers...thought I would let you know because we are getting married. :-)...JK...not really
Oh! You guys have to watch Firelight. Taylor does a great job as being the new Bella.
Yeah!
Emily pretty much said exactly what I think (including caps and exclamation points).
I love T. Swift and I thought her monologue and the way she handled the conflict was great.
