dark CHOCOLATEEEEEEEEEEEEE relieves stress

You know how dark chocolate has those antioxidants that keep us free from cardiovascular disease and other physical diseases?
Well it turns out that dark chocolate might ease your emotional stress as well! This may be of particular interest to high school seniors who are currently taking multiple AP classes and are filling out applications for multiple colleges. Research suggests that dark chocolate lowers the amount of stress hormones in stressed individuals who eat dark chocolate.
No wonder I felt so good that one day.
Now before you all go running to stuff yourselves with dark chocolate...

"The study provides strong evidence that a daily consumption of 40 grams [1.4 ounces] during a period of 2 weeks is sufficient to modify the metabolism of healthy human volunteers,"

Control yourselves!!!!! Too much of anything is bad for you!

I'm not a fan of dark chocolate =[ & where is the explanation about how eating dark chocolate works? It just says it reduces stress.. (article) There could be other factors that seem to lift the volunteer's stress levels (maybe being told that chocolate will relieve them of stress ;p)

True that. They are still looking into it, but I remember something about chocolate having something to do with releasing endorphins, which are feel good hormones, although I'm failing at remembering where exactly I heard this.
Or...
Maybe this is something psychological. It may be possible that the volunteers just liked dark chocolate, which made them happy. The mind does do some crazy things.

Of course, I am biased towards believing this study because I have a habit of stuffing myself with sweets, which includes large amounts of chocolate, when I am stressed out.

I love dark chocolate and it is very good to see that it is actually beneficial. For the most part, I always associated the slight bitterness of dark chocolate with antioxidants, but it's very nice to know that it also improves your emotional state also. I'm going to eat more chocolate from now on.

Remember, no more than 40 grams in 2 weeks Preston.
But yeah, I'm definitely going to start eating more dark chocolate now.

I've seen this before too! Sadly, dark chocolate doesn't taste very good to me. Actually, the first time I read anything about dark chocolate being healthy, it was that dark chocolate can lower your blood pressure. It said that the benefits of dark chocolate come from flavonoids that lower blood pressure. I'm not a doctor, maybe this is linked to the stress relief?

I've heard dark chocolate is good for you, but I didn't know it could relieve stress! I don't really like chocolate, especially dark, so I eat ice cream when I'm stressed, but maybe I'll try it and see how it works.

Cool! Dark chocolate is more pure than white and milk chocolate. I shall eat dark chocolate now since it relieves stress and has less sugar!
