Girl who sneezes 12,000 times a day

A 12 year old girl has doctors baffled about her constant sneezing. She sneezes about 12,000 times a day. She said that she got a cold two weeks ago and ever since has been sneezing about 9 times per minute.

I can't imagine sneezing this much. I hate sneezing. I try not to sneeze as much as I can, so I feel really sorry for this little girl. I attached the video I found to the title. I'm really curious as to what is wrong with her.

Oh my gosh. I think if that happened to me, my insides would ache so bad. I am also curious as to what happened to her.

12000 a day..?
~8 sneezes per minute?
Well she must stop sneezing when she goes to sleep right? Or not..?

I just watched a report on this yesterday, and I heard about it on the radio this morning! I feel so bad for her...a chronic case of sneezing. wow.

In my Spanish class, it's good luck to sneeze 3 times in a row. I don't think that sneezing 12,000 times in just one day is four thousand times the luck though. I feel bad for this girl, and hope that doctors can find a means to cure this medical phenomenon.

Poor girl! Hopefully the doctors find out what's wrong with her sooner rather than later. It must be some kind of health risk to sneeze that often.

I know that sneezing is supposed to expel irritants in your nose, but obviously that's not the case for this girl. I'm pretty sure if you're sneezing 8x a minute you would have gotten the sucker out long ago...

It must be comfortable to sneeze the first few times, but it would wear on her.

As a person who coughs spontaneously, I would know.

The mom needs to stop crying. The girl sneezing a lot, but she won't die from it. So why is the mom crying? I cough a lot, and my family and classmates are incredibly annoyed, but no one cries.

Her head must feel like it's going to explode! I don't even like sneezing 5 times in a row, so I can't even imagine what this girl is going through.

Does anyone know if the doctors have any idea as to what is causing the sneezing spasm?

Well, this sneezing spell happened after a cold, so maybe her body is reacting to the illness that does not exist anymore?

Man this sucks!!! I feel so sorry for her and i hope she is able to overcome this condition soon. Sneezing 12 000 times a day, as Preston said, is definitely not good luck.
By now, the constant sneezing is probably taking its toll on her body. They should act fast.

That would be very exhausting. "In 1983 a fourteen year old girl set a record for sneezing. She sneezed approximately every five minutes for nine hundred and seventy-seven days." This girl will probably break the record...I wonder if anyone still takes the time to say bless you to her after every sneeze. Maybe she suffers from photic sneezing...

My mom tells me that sneezing 6 times in a row is good luck, but for this girl any more is bad luc? i know for sneezing even just once is very uncomfortable to me.

I feel so bad for this girl! Sneezing is not comfortable and I figure it can't be particularly good for you to sneeze that often.

I understand why her mom is upset though, she is completely helpless when it comes to helping her daughter. Hopefully they solve this medical mystery soon.

wow! i can't imagine how inconvenient that would be! she must be in physically and mentally pain constantly for sneezing 12,000 times a day!

I saw this news on the news. It was ridiculous. They had an interview and I felt so bad watching her try to talk and sneeze repetitively. I don't think I would be able to do anything if this happens to me. I just hope she gets better, and it is not this chronic sneezing is curable.
