12 protesters arrested

Today 12 people were arrested outside of Nancy Pelosi's office. These demonstrators were protesting against Obama's health care reform. This protest was pretty nasty, with people bringing horrible signs comparing the plans for health care reform to concentration camps in Nazi Germany (Dramatic?). Of the 12 arrested, 4 were charged for refusing to leave Pelosi's office, and 8 were charged for unlawful or disorderly conduct. The protest was organized by conservative Rep. Michele Bachman (R-Minn.). Bachman spoke during the protest yelling "Oh come on, tell them how you really feel" with the crowd answering. “Kill the bill! Kill the bill! Kill the bill!”. Pretty hostile if you ask me. Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance and actually messed up the words after joking that saying the Pledge "Drives the liberals crazy".. go to http://www.politico.com/singletitlevideo.html?bcpid=1155201977&bctid=48483738001 to watch

Wow. I kind of laughed at the fact that they were comparing the Healthcare Reform to concentration camps in Germany. That's pretty ridiculous. I feel like if Democrats did such an outrageous thing, Republicans would attack them and be very hypocritical saying their actions are reasonable or something.

Definately over the top.

For such people complain about the "moral decay in society", they should not be comparing the president to Hitler or chant "kill the bill".

It gets crazy when you think about it. Why would people be this hostile and angry over a bill to extend healthcare? This is not the Vietnam war, so the protests should not reach that level of hostility.

I don't remember the Democrats comparing Bush to Hitler this strongly.

I most definitely agree with both Emily and Kevin. The level of hostility should have not been that dramatic (i think). i mean, these are adults trying to prove a point. so why dont they protest with a little bit of respect for others and not be so hostile? But, its a protest so thing i guess would tend to get routy.

I agree with everyone. This event seemed somewhat over dramatic. If those protesting for something wanted respect from listeners and everyone else, they should at least be more serious and less hostile. It seems pretty hilarious to be watching this. It's kind of funny how they are comparing plans for health care reform with concentration camps in Nazi Germany.

I agree with Serena. It was pretty dramatic of them to compare the health care plans to concentration camps in Nazi Germany. People can have their opinions, but they shouldn't have taken it this far.

I really don't get how people can compare health care to the concentration camps during Hitler's time. This is pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty open-minded but I can't possibly think of any reasons on how they can make a connection between the health care and the concentration camps...
