On Monday, South Carolina GOP leaders attempted to censure SC Senator Lindsey Graham for his support of the 2008 Bailout, as well as other Democratic actions such as a compromise on cap-and-trade legislation. The other GOP members feel the need to question his loyalty to conservative ideals. Graham says, "I've tried to be a conservative that can grow and build this party." He claims, "they have no desire to change-I do." Many of his fellow Party members believe that the censure was unfair because it was so last minute, and the resolutions were not considered by each member accordingly. This is a case of a tyrannical minority, as evidenced in the email shown in the article.
I don't think that it's fair that he be censured for working with the other party to try and get something accomplished. Yes, I understand that his actions were a huge taboo for many GOP, but like Sen. Graham said, he wants to be "a conservative that can grow". Part of growing means accepting change, even when you don't like it. I think the GOP members who are behind the censure are acting like spoiled brats, but that's my own opinion. What do you guys think?

And the ironic part is that the GOP is complaing about the "thug tactics" democrats used to pass the health care bill.

But just to be fair and as bi-partisan as possible, both parties use party discipline to keep their congressmen and congresswomen in line.
Jodi, you're forgetting that there can be no such thing as a "moderate Republican" willing to compromise. REAL Republicans like Hannity and Limbaugh don't want to compromise on reasonable issues. It's against the party's partisan lines. Don't you get it?
On a more serious note, I fear for the Republican party. They need serious help. If only Reagan were alive, wait ... HE LIVES!

Nice video, Andrew. Yes, I understand that Republicans are very conservative, but seriously, the way these GOP members are acting isn't helping their party in any way. If they want the Republican Party to survive, it has to grow and change with the times. Isn't that what major political parties have done over time to ensure their continued existance?
"If they want the Republican Party to survive, it has to grow and change with the times."
They're called conservatives for a reason. They believe that their beliefs are eternal.
