A fourteen year old boy was arrested for killing his parents back in October. He has now pleaded guilty and stated that he didnt want to take out the trash. Apparently he was "sick of it". So the boy took the gun and shot his mom first. Then he hid in the closet until his stepfather came home and he fired several times. People said that he was happy on that day- probably because he didn't have to do his chores anymore.
There is a picture of the boy on the video. He looks pretty normal and innocent. Appearances are decieving.

So NRA, (national rifle association) how will you fight against this one if it was brought to the court by an intrest group? These things are happening so often now and really makes you think whether having a gun was intended for protection or for killing. Evidently times have changed and I am definetly backing up the "Evolutionists" on this one. If one doesn't apply today's values and situations to the Constitution, how are situations like these going to be avoided? The kid acted due to stupidity and definitely was not thinking of the consequences. As the man in the video stated, it would have been alot harder for the kid to take a knife and try to kill his parents that way then a simple bullet to the head.
Oh also, the boy was tried as an adult. Due to his age, the Court will not be issuing a death penalty.

Two things. First, Lily, you are absolutely correct in everything that you said. Second, they better give this guy life in prison, and make him do “trash” related jobs for as long as he lives. This disgusts me. He couldn’t wait 4 more years, become an adult, and leave his parents? Idiot.
He won't learn though from doing "trash" related jobs for the rest of his life. All he'll learn probably is to hate people in general or the ones that are forcing it on him. I feel like this incident isn't going to end well. I rather have him feel guilty for the rest of his life for what he did and see how life is harsh. That way he would find out how lucky he was actually to even have "trash". Having to make a living on his own would force him to save up and waste nothing. Hopefully, that way he would value it more.
wow! waht a smart kid! he knew he didnt want to do shores anymore so he killed his parents........thats a little sketchy to me. maby this kid had some problems. And i like that you put are guns for protection or are they for killing. I really do think that people dont know the difference between the two. Guns are ment to kill or harm people even if it is for protection.
Well...that's why people who own guns are required to get a gun safe as well as trigger locks. If the kid didn't know the combination, and didn't have the keys to the trigger locks, then he wouldn't have had access to the guns. I partially blame the parents for being irresponsible and allowing their teenager to have access to firearms.
And also...how did the neighbors not hear the first few shots, and why didn't they call the cops immediately?
Although I agree with Victor that it is partially the parents fault for not locking the gun up more securely, this whole situation could have been avoided if they didnt have a gun in the first place. I think gun control laws should be stricter because of incidents like this and many more. The world has changed since the creation of the constitution and bearing arms often harms many more than it protects.
I suggest that we send the kid to Haiti for one year to persuade him that taking out the trash or doing chores is far easier than living around ruins without parents. I don't believe in the death penalty as much anymore primarily because if someone has done something wrong, he should not be allowed to continue being wrong. This kind of experience would allow the kid to turn around without making him even angrier. He'll learn to appreciate.
I actually like the idea of sending him to Haiti to learn his lesson.
As for trigger locks, some states don't require that. As far as I know, only background checks is required and even those are done poorly. The reason why trigger locks aren't always needed is that when theres a burguler in your house you don't have the time to punch in the combination before you get shot or robbed.
I'm not exactly sure why the neighbors did not hear the first few shots or did not call the cops. Anyways most people tend not to get involve even if they do hear shots which is sad. ;( I wish they would at least call the police for their own safety if not for other people's safety.

Aw shucks. Why do I have to do chores? I'm tired too. The Court just needs to get over it.
Also, the NRA is NOT responsible for this. The kid is and so are his parents for being irresponsible. Simple.

It is hard to be in favor of the right to bear arms sometimes when things like this happen. I remember there being some statistic showing that most often household guns end up being used for suicide and homicides rather than for self defense or protection.
I know that if worldwide, people got rid of weapons altogether,then a lot of lives would be saved, but that is completely unrealistic.

Jessica is right. As I researched for this last year, it was pretty disappointing that the guns bought and stored in a gun safe were actually used to kill family members and close friends. Never were they used to defend themselves from strangers. Household family members would get in large argument...one thing leads to another and bang impulse over reason. The husband or wife shoots the other.
Also, it was difficult to argue for the pro gun side in the debate because although it is one of our "rights" stated in the second amendment, all of these murders such as this cannot be stopped because our government does not enforce the law to a greater extent. I also think it was irresponsible on the parents' part for not keeping the gun in a more secure place. A fourteen year old is definitely not old enough to handle a gun for any reason at all.

I understand that. My point was that this would be a hard case to argue against for pro gun advocates. I didn't mean to push the blame on the NRA which supports hunting for sport and gun protection.

As in he will probably be getting a life sentence in prison not juvi. However, the Court will not be issuing a death penalty even though he committed a serious crime.
