Republicans Gain Control of the House

By midnight EST, the Republicans have safely acquired enough house seats to gain control of the house of representatives as they gain 57 seats--one of the biggest single election gains in seats since 1938.

They have not completely taken over the house, however they have enough of majority to play a major influence on the democratic controlled senate and presidency. President Barrack Obama is expected to re-adjust his policies and politics to accommodate this loss for the democratic party.

"This loss." Definitely something that I scratch my head at. Are you suggesting that it would be better to have a majority of Democrats or that it is a loss that there are so many Republicans?

I am not surprised that this election is what changed the balance in the House. I was expecting this since alot of people are not to happy with the party in office, the Democrats, so for it to be a big change is not too surprising. It is not necessarily a loss though, it's just maybe the party that most people our age don't totally find ourselves agreeing with! It is a wake up call for Obama to start raking up some makeup points in the next 2 years or he's done!

People are too impatient too and ignorant too know that change takes time and won't happen with a wave of a wand. And these constant swings in who is in power doesn't let either party get anything done because the other party will do ANYTHING to prevent a "win" for the other side.

@Bobby
Yes I would prefer a majority of Democrats in the house because it is easier to pass legislature with people that generally agree with you.
-Now the only thing we will see now in politics is, "Republicans make a bill in House, Senate Democrats reject it because its too conservative or it wants to repeal the laws already passed."
-A split legislature branch was one of the worst case scenario in my eyes.

As terrible as it is that the Republicans are being rewarded for their blatant blocking of any Democratic ideas, maybe this is for the best. Clearly, the current arrangement is not working to well (because of Republicans), so now that Republicans have control over the house maybe they will feel some pressure to preform well. With this new control, hopefully Republicans will no longer be able to blame Democrats for everything and take some accountability for the state of the nation. Poor Obama, though.
