Marco Rubio, GOP's answer to Obama

Republican Marco Rubio, the first Tea Party candidate, is a Cuban-American that has recently won the Florida Senator race in this year's 2010 midterm election. The son of Cuban exiles, many have called this previously unknown politician as the "Republican Obama". He paid his own way through college and law school. He had a passion for football in high school just as Obama did for basketball. Most importantly, he has created a name for himself on the national political level in a short amount of time and has given people a figure of hope as Tea Party supported candidates are being elected to go to Washington to bring about change. Sound familiar?

This guy really does sound pretty similar to Obama. His background is parallel to his in many ways, except he's on the Republican's side. However, although even his rise to politics is the same, we can't be so quick to judge. He might be just as good as Obama, working his way up to even becoming our president. However, his background doesn't mean much. He still has lots of work ahead of him and has to campaign well and such. He still has a whole ordeal ahead of him, and the way he handles it and responds to it will determine if he will be chosen to bring change. We can't rely solely on his background. So don't be quick to judge. How will he bring change? We'll just have to wait and see.

Marco Rubio does seem nearly identical to Obama, except that both represent different parties. I am very interested in what he can do for our country; Rubio is definitely someone to keep an eye on for the next few years. However, just as Chris already mentioned above, he'll need to prove himself and his abilities before we can give fully judge him.
