Wrigley Field too short to host football, but will anyway

We all know that college football is a huge fan favorite among sports. This odd story of two college teams, Northwestern Wildcats vs. Illinois Fighting Illini, who were playing on Wrigley felid which it home to baseballs Chicago Cubs. This doesnt sound too strange but the field to short to play on. The teams have to score in the same endzone, and when they get close enough the ref's have to switch the ball around.

I'm not too into football myself, but then there's no such a thing as a "Hail Mary," is there? Even if the referees switch around the ball, what happens if one team steals the ball and runs down the field with it? I mean, sure, this rarely happens, but when it does, the refs will have to stop the game to reset. Also, this kills the momentum for the team ahead, since they might have to reset after a certain number of yards.
Sorry to the football fans, but this just reaffirms the absurdity of football. There is way too much inaction as opposed to the actual amount of time the ball is in play.
I don't know how the football game is going to go down at this particular field, but maybe people will be glad that their classically baseball field is being put to good use?

also saw this story in sports news recently, and was quite amused at the lengths organizations will go to for a little promotion of a certain event or game. Obviously, having a college football game on the field of a professional baseball team will draw interest from viewers which bring views. I speculate that players on both teams would have rather played their game on a regulation sized football field instead of cramming 2 teams on a baseball field. However this event is not the only one to happen. Army and Notre Dame also played their football game this weekend at Yankee Stadium which was able to fit a regulation field, and Fenway Park (home of the Boston Red Sox) is also known to host hockey games both on the collegiate and professional level.
