More sports. Suprised?

It seems that every week when watching SC something new pops about an athlete messing up. Farve, Newton and now Young. ESPN seems obsessed to cover these event and give as much analysis about things that 95% of watchers don't care about it. In last Sunday game Vince Young was pulled out of QB for an injury and proceeded to have a childish breakdown. He threw his pads into the stands and stormed off the field. I don't believe that his actions are justified. He's getting millions to preform on the field and he got INJURED when he was pulled. Why would he get angry that he got pulled because he was injured? Would he rather be benched for playing shitty? Sometimes I don't get how athletes act, they can't have it both way; they can't get payed a crazy amount of money and expect to be stress-free.

Well that's what happens when you have a sports-oriented news show, right? I mean most of the "news" on some news channels are useless info about celebrities we don't need to know. Look at the previous post, "Miley Cyrus' 18th Birthday!" Really?! If we're getting that on our regular "news" channels then why should we expect a sports-oriented news show to stray from that trend?
With that being said, although I agree with you that Young should not be acting this way, is it really fair that we judge him on this one incident that we do not know the full scope of? All we know is that he stormed off the field after being pulled with an apparent injury. As a competitor and athlete myself, I can empathize with Young. I would be pissed if I was pulled from a game that I felt I could still make a difference in! I mean it's like infuriating! Anyways, I think my point is that just because Young makes a bajillion more dollars than the regular person doesn't exempt him from human emotion and feelings like others.
But I do see your point Cris in saying that he should be acting professionally and much more humble because he does make a bajillion dollars a year.
P.S. Cris you misspelled Favre, He is a future Hall Of Famer after all . . .

I believe SC is ridiculous sometimes. Nobody really cares about Vince Young and his tantrums, I am against televising that behavior because it is bad for the sport. These guys are roll models for amateur athletes and kids. Behavior that should be televised is respectful behavior, sportsmanship, entertainment, exciting plays, leadership and good coaching. Society wants to see negative behavior due to reality and stressed spoiled people. And networks will televise because there is such a strong want for it. It's all about the viewers not the players and that is what people need to understand. Quality and TV has been compromised.

It's ESPN's and SC's job to report the sports news but I have to agree that they can over exxagerate on certain topics. As for Vince Young, that's just an immature move on him. I mean, not even Michael Vick or Terrell Owens have that kind of attitude to storm off the field and throw equipment in the stands. It confuses me as to how these type of athletes get paid millions of dollars to act like this on national television and in front of the public. But, people like to see this type of stuff on TV and it's ultimately what drives people to watch sports: To compete, fight, and show off.
