The New (and returning) faces of California State Politics

The results coming, 32% of the precincts are reporting.
Gubernatorial Race
2026785 Brown (51%)
1755863 Whitman (44%)

The secretary of state's computer that is to process the votes has crashed, but almost all news organizations and polls (abc7news, CNN, the Associated Press, etc.) has declared Jerry Brown the winners of the California Governor's race. After one of these most expensive political campaigns in history, the house keeper scandal, and the backfiring of the infamous numerous negative ads, the California Attorney General has come back in the polls over former EBay Millionaire Meg Whitman and will return to the governor's position after his two terms in 1983

Lieutenant Gubernatorial Race
34% of the precincts reporting
1672308 Newsom (47%)
1532562 Maldonaldo (43%)

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is expected to win over incumbent Lt Governor Abel Maldonaldo. Enough Said.

34% of the precincts reporting
Senator Race
2054000 Boxer (50%)
Fiorina 1860941 (45%)

Incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer is expected to win over Former HP executive Carly Fiorina. I am watching the Channel 7 news at this very moment as she addresses supporters at her Irvine headquarters. She has not thrown in the towel yet and is still hopeful as Barbara Boxer has already claimed victory in Hollywood.
"It's going to be a long night" -Fiorina

Among these elections, Proposition 25 is expected to pass by 54% with 38% of Precincts reporting.
This proposition will reduce the super majority to pass tax laws and suspend pay and benefits to state politicians if a budget is not passed on time. With this new system that has already been accepted by 47 other states in the Union and the Republican controlled house, the game of politics of in Sacramento will most like change. These new political leaders will have a lot to handle, let's hope for the best Californians!

I now have the utmost respect for election reporters, pollsters, and bloggers. Keeping up with the changing numbers in real time as you try to analyze and comment is hard to impossible.

Now Remember--> Not all the precincts have reported. It's not over until it's over, but it's getting ugly at the moment for the hopefuls
