Celebrities get so much spotlight about things that "normal, everyday people" go through everyday.

But what's sad is that the media keeps doing this because it sells People are actually intrigued by these kinds of pointless stories. I guess people are entertained by and interested in problems and events and things celebrities go through. Celebrities are normal people, just like you and me. But I guess people like to hear these stories because then they can relate to celebrities, it proves to them that celebrities are still people.

I admit, when I found out that one of my friend's saw EMINEM at a local Walgreens the first thing I said was "WOAH. What the heck, he goes to Walgreens?!"

for some reason, celebrities just seem so out of this world. to us normal people.

Is this really something important to announce to the world?

Dan Fu said...

Yes Amos, I believe that this is very important to be announced to the world as she does play a major part in the socialization of teenagers.

Okay wait, I've had a change of heart. In fact, Miley Cyrus' birthday is an event that ought to be celebrated by multitudes of people all around the world. She is, in fact, an excellent role model for teenagers and people all around the world.

In fact, she "recently made a public message video in which she thanked those who donated to the Children in Need charity and urged others to do the same."

Also, she "supports the Libby Ross Foundation, and recently decorated a yoga bag for an auction to raise funds for the charity’s yoga program. The foundation promotes early detection of breast cancer, as well as research to eradicate the disease and support programs for victims. A little off the beaten path, she is also involved with Musicians on Call, a charity that brings live and recorded music to the besides of patients to promote the healing process. She agreed to perform at a concert benefitting this organization, joining Jordin Sparks and Gavin DeGraw. And, for every Hannah Montana concert ticket sold, Cyrus reportedly donates $1 to the City of Hope, a biomedical research, treatment and educational institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer."

We need Miley Cyrus.

Must be nice to have the whole country watching on your 18th birthday... or maybe not. Meh.

I completely agree with Ryan. At last year's International Sustainable World (Engineering, Energy & Environment) Project Olympiad, a prominent international science research competition, the American delegation was introduced with "Party in the USA" blaring in the background, suggesting that "Party in the USA" now amounts to our national anthem.

Thus, without Miley not only would we not have a selfless philanthropist, but we also would not have a national anthem. This girl deserves some respect.
