TOday, a California ban on bulletproof vests was repealed. It was a decade old ban that banned possession of body armor by anyone with a violent felony conviction. This ban was ruled unconstitutional because people wouldn't be able to tell the prohibited vests from teh non-prohibited vests. The ban was passed to protect police officers. The ban could send a person to up to three years in prison for wearing an illegal vest or body armour.
There is another law linked to this that can put someone up to five years in prison for committing a crime while wearing body armor.

I think it is a good idea to ban bulletproof vests in case someone might use a bulletproof vest for a robbery. However, California should make a ban on possession of concealed guns (weapons with no bullets). But, people are allowed to place their bullets concealed in their pockets. California should also focus on banning this law to create a safer environment
Actually Clinton, statistics shows that "concealed guns" actually scares people into doing less crimes. (somewhere in the East Coast-there was a test) I think its a good idea that they decided to ban bulletproof vests simply because it will make it more difficult for people who conduct robberies or other crimes to obtain them. After all, what kind of normal citizen would walk around the street in a bulletproof vest..(meant to be a joke I am sorry if you do wear such.)
