Obama plan could limit records hidden from public

On December 31, a deadline has been set that would declassify about 400 million pages of records on the Cold War that were hidden from public attention. Obama is right now considering on how to deal with this situation. It is predicted that the president to sign an executive order that with create a National Declassification Center. This new center would will clear up the documents.

This is to clear up any unnecessary secrecy of these documents and to revise classification guides. THese guides need ot be revised because the last revision was five years ago.

Information in these documents include info about Soviet relations, invasion of Afghanistan, and the Berlin Wall.

This is good that they are trying to unveil unclear information of a scary time in our nations history. The government should always try to keep as little information secret as possible.

Umm yes this could limit records hidden from the public. However, it can also lead to government tampering with those documents and giving us a false message. So...what to do?

Hopefully their is not government tampering with the documents. But it still seems good that by limiting the hidden records, people can have more trust in the government or the government can have more trust in the people.

But wouldn't they just publish copies of the original document? Well, then yeah, I guess they could make false documents. Hopefully it will all be the truth and nothing will be hidden or falsified.
