Pretty much what the title says. Random, but also funny. $7.50 for an ornament or $15 for a pendant necklace. Don't worry though, they're sterilized.
Don't laugh too much either; the zoo can make an estimated $16,500 selling these to offset $200,000 that it lost under state budget cuts this year.

I've eaten reindeer.
This is kind of gross, no matter how "sterile" this is. I guess people are just getting extremely creative with what they sell. At least we know it wont be harmful to the environment...Props to the zoo if they manage to sell these ornaments and necklaces.
This is so random! However, it is a pretty good way to effectively use the reindeer dung. In addition, I'm glad that many people are trying to use a variety of animal's dung and putting it to good use. In my research, I found a website that uses animal's poo to create environmentally friendly products.
http://www.poopoopaper.com/
This is...interesting. Obviously the recession's effect isn't vast enough to prevent people from buying animal poop.
...can't you just go find some dung yourself and make your own jewelry?
And if they really want to be environmentally friendly, wouldn't turning the dung into compost be better than letting it hang around someone's neck and not work its way back into the environment?
This is kind of disturbing. But it's kind of helpful that people are thinking of ways to better profit the zoo and put animal dung to better use. I really want to see how well these ornaments can sell. It would be kind of interesting actually.
I think that this is pretty gross. I agree with Mei Mei, even with how sterile it is, that is still gross. I guess anything really can be sold these days, I mean look at ebay, you can find just about anything on that site...
Ew.. I guess people are attracted to it because they think it is "exotic." If the zoo is making money off of this then more power to them, I guess.
