Polls on health care

Obama's health care reform holds an even division among the public view. His handling of this issue is apparently either better nor worse for him since summer, polls reported. However, 57 percent of those polled support government-sponsored insurance option. This number goes up to even 76 percent if it's limited to only those who can't afford private insurance.

Thanks for posting this Mona. I think that the public option is something that is sorely needed in the health bill. It is the "great compromise" of healthcare, giving the option of having private insurance care or government care. People can choose, which is what I love about it. I also think that Senator Reid's addition to the plan, to allow states to opt-out, is another good compromise, and would allow us to see if the public-option system really works compared to our system now.

Polls will always be JUST polls. Until the actual bill comes out and until people can actually vote for it, polls will not do anything. I see this as just another form of 'spin' to maybe lean moderates to vote for a government sponsored insurance option.

Yes, I somewhat agree with you. Polls may not seem like much at the moment. But in a way, polls show what they may lead up to in the end as more and more Americans support the bill.
