How to Report the News

In this hilarious video, Charlie Brooker pokes fun at how TV reporters report the news.
Makes you wonder - have we really become such a soundbite society?

It is interesting to see how much of the visual presentation has nothing to do with what is being reported!? Something one doesn't often think about...

The use of visual presentation can also be vital to the reporter conveying the information in a way that doesn't cause people to flip to a different channel. Yes, sometimes imagery can be exaggerated and overutilized, but it is also necessary to give actual meaning to the raw numbers.

Charlie Brooker's video does make an interesting point about news reports are all very similar, but that's because it works. And it's not necessarily always a bad thing.
