106 year old woman.

If you watched Obama's speech last night then you probably heard Obama mention Ann Nixon Cooper, a 106 year old woman who voted for Obama. Cooper was born a generation after the end of slavery. She lived to see women earn the right to vote, and the end of segregation. This is a woman who has lived through a lot!!! It was only fitting that Obama honor her with his speech, and with this call that you see in this video.

Wow, thanks for the video. It seems Obama made a very clear point in his speech about referencing the right people. Im sure he sent a very very strong message to all americans when he commented about earning the respect of those who do not yet support him yet. It really fits his character that after this race is over, rather then rejecting his opponents and waving his moment of victory, that he would use his acceptance speech as a message for how this country needs more then ever to be united.

Hm, got a little off topic, the video was great :)

That's the coolest old lady ever! I liked how she had doubted herself on whether she had made the right choice and only after Obama contacted her was she sure she had. Her wisdom is apparent. It shows that the American people shouldn't really care whether our president is exactly like us and thinks like us and talks like us, (Palin). But that they try to reach out to us constantly. That's one of the reasons Bush failed so miserably. He always made it seem like it was "my way or the highway" Shunning the citizens of the country you run is not the way to run a country. We kinda get lonely if our president doesn't pay attention to us. But yet Obama's victory speech emphasized always listening and reaching out... which is good.

I saw the movie again and it wasn't only that Obama reached out to her, but that he was also appreciative of her. The American people will probably like a person as president better if that president isn't always criticizing them. I'd feel pretty good about myself if any president I had done a good job. Which is another failure of Bush: He didn't thank us enough for all the things that went right with his tenure in the White House.
