Cheating at the debate?

As an interesting little side note... I saw this online and thought it was interesting. I've also seen this suspicion mentioned in a couple of articles...

Is it a legitimate claim? Or just an over reaction to a tissue or something similar?

The update to this post may answer your question: http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/10/05/upon-further-review-mitt-romney-may-have-cheated-to-win-the-debate/.

It seems that it was a handkerchief after all...

It says there is evidence that it was a handkerchief but the majority of the rest of the article had actual evidence that it appeared to be notes? It seems especially weird that he would return to the podium to retrieve what he left there

It seems like a pretty big risk for Romney to take with negative publicity to bring a note sheet when he could have easily memorized the information. You never know though

I saw this speculation after the debate and I was very annoyed! However, despite the fact that the video and caps all look somewhat suspicious, I don't think it was actually notes. Although lying seemed to be a pretty big part of the debate, it seems to me that this particular brand of cheating was not.

Sam raises a good point. Such an easily spotted cheating tactic would obviously not be used in an event as big as the presidential debate. I'm sure Romney would be smart enough to realize that cheating in such a crude way just to have a slight advantage is not worth the risk of getting caught and blasted with bad publicity. Plus, wouldn't you think he would have been more accurate with his statements that night if he actually had prepared notes? I mean, come on, We have to use a little common sense here. Here is a guy aiming for the big leagues in front of the whole country. Do you really think a presidential candidate would stoop so low as to cheat like a grade school student?
