Get more Gitmo.

All of us can remember that at the beginning of his presidency, Barack Obama decided to release highly sensitive material relating to the American facilities in Guantanamo Bay in an attempt of buying public support by appearing to be "transparent." Not only was the President's action unprecedented (no pun intended) but his attempts to decommission the Guantanamo Bay facilities blew up in his face as Americans realized that the only way to do so would be to transport all terrorists from the facilities onto American soil where they would stand trial in American courts as if they deserved, or had the same rights as American citizens. Since Obama suspended military activity in the facilities and earlier last year managed to start getting terrorists from some of the facilities tried in courts, he has had to revoke his suspension of the facilities and as lawmakers are trying to block courts from trying cases of the terrorists in Guantanamo Bay there may be no other option but to keep the facilities open. Currently, habeus releases by the executive branch are the fastest way to empty Guantanamo Bay of terrorists. However, even though many terrorists have won due process lawsuits against the government for being detained without trial or processing, they are still not released because there still remains the concern as to whether or not they will return to terrorist activities and a congressional ban prevents such releases from occurring. As for now, the future of Guantanamo Bay detainees is undecided and only time will decide their fate.
