I find it interesting that the vote breakdown by age correlates quite nicely with the trend we learned in class, with adults 45-64 years old voting the most, and that statistic dipping back down for those over 65. Some of the other poll breakdowns found in the link that Crystal provided are also worthy of note. For example, 49% of those who believed that Gingrich "ran the most unfair campaign" voted for Romney, and 58% of those who believed that Romney ran the most unfair campaign voted for Gingrich, supporting the notion that these two candidates are indeed the current GOP frontrunners. Also, the responses of all questions related to religion, the Tea Party, or ideology revealed (well, we already knew) that conservatives leaned toward Gingrich, whereas moderates and liberals leaned toward Romney. The fact that twice as many people aligned themselves with the former group helps explain why Gingrich won South Carolina this weekend.
Just to throw some more statistics into the mix, Gingrich beat Romney in support from single women, evangelical women, and married women. To underline that last bullet, Gingrich had a 41 to 28 percent win over Romney regarding support from married women.
Three marriages and extra-marital affairs say what? The hypocrisy. It stings.
