Snooping or helping?

In Finland, it seems a select group of people are undergoing a study in which the post office will open their mail and create a digital PDF of the letter. I find this to be a rather intriguing idea and would love to see how it develops. I'm not sure how this will turn out, but the privacy issue will come up. Will the people opening the mail read them? What happens if an account is hacked? I find a weird part about all of this is that we're starting to rely on electronics so much now that even our regular mail (that someone had to either spend time to write or print) is going back over to digital. Whether that's good or bad will depend on the person, but whatever happens, this can get interesting.

Those in Finland are already depressed enough, I say the post office should leave them alone! But seriously, this is definitely a breach of privacy and is not doing anything productive.

Um... Why are they doing it? You don't address reasons for it, much less pros and cons.

Sorry, Ilan, I didn't realize I had to summarize the article for you. It's merely a trial to see how this kind of a system will work if implemented on a larger scale. It's a study, and as all scientific studies go, it's to get a result, and in this case, a comprehensive view of people's reaction to something of the sort.

I think that finland should not use electronics... the traditional use of the post office is sufficient enough.
