SAN DIEGO – The social networking site MySpace says it removed the profile of John Albert Gardner III, a convicted child molester who is charged with killing a 17-year-old San Diego area girl.
The company said Thursday that Gardner used a false name, false hometown and false birthday to register for the account. MySpace confirmed it was his site by working with the FBI and San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
o noo.. not another one of these stories. it makes me cringe to know that some people have the nerve to do this. and the worst part is, it's not his first time. in 2000, the man was convicted of molesting and assaulting a 13 year old. he obviously didn't learn his lesson from the first time. he was also accused of raping and murdering 17-year-old, and a suspect in the murder of 14-year-old as well. I feel like sex offenders in general need an established punishment for their crimes. first off their thinking style is just sick minded, and it's really dangerous for society.

I agree with you Katrina. It is important to get find these sex offenders and punish them. This article reminds me of the show to catch a predator. In this show, they try to catch sexual predators and arrest them. I hope that in the future there will be more shows like this to bring awareness to this issue.
It makes me so frustrated when I read these articles because it happens over and over again. D;
I think it is also the kids' responsibility and adults as well to inform them that although myspace might seem cool, it is just another virtual pathway for molestors and rapists to "friend" you on these networking websites. I agree with Yvonne that more ways to bring awareness to this issue is needed in order for children and parents especially to be more safe.
