Toyota Recall

In January of 2010, Toyota recalled 2.3 million cars, because of a faulty gas pedal. It seems that Toyota is working at a very rapid rate to fix this issue, but it still seems like a scary one. I mean, with all of the different recalls, such as Toyota and Lexus there just seems like too many. Many Toyota owners are standing by Toyota, and believe that they are working as fast as they can to fix the problem. But there are also many others who think that this is the last straw, and they are over Toyota. How do you all feel? This is obviously a safety issue, and hopefully Toyota will win back over the support of their consumers soon.

I feel like Toyota is still the predominant figure in eco-friendly cars which is why they really shouldn't be getting so much heat. Every car brand has made some mistake whether it be honda or porsche. Toyota had a problem and the recall is a good sign that they want to fix the problem because they genuinely care about their drivers and customers. The real issue is the car inspection agencies that let these cars go onto the market. These review boards need to be more careful in their tests so as to not let this occur again.
Plus, the new prius' are more efficient and therefore deserve a second chance.

I totally agree that this is a safety issue and why it concerns many people who own Toyotas. However, I also agree with what Seth is saying.
As a proud Toyota driver I would have to say they are definitely reliable cars and people shouldn't write them off just yet. Then again I am someone who doesn't need to worry about the recall since I have a Toyota from '97. Considering my car is over ten years old it has had minimal issues in comparison to other models, and I think that is a testament to Toyota in general.

People shouldn't be so angry at Toyota because Toyota is actually trying to fix the problems. If they didn't care, they wouldn't even bother trying to fix the cars.

I read on this website that the repairs take only 30 minutes which isn't too inconvenient. In addition, the majority of Toyota dealers are extending service hours and some will be open 24/7 to ensure that all vehicles will be fixed.

Of course Toyota's trying to fix the problem. They've been called to Congressional hearings because of this issue. If they refused to take action and fix the problems, then they'd have to answer to an angry federal government.
