Occupy Wall Street Protest

Right now there is a sit in protest on Wall Street in New York. The protesters are liberals who are protesting the bad financial status that our nation is currently in and to prove a point that our government is corrupt. This protest has been going on for about two weeks now and is spreading west of New York into other various cities. The protesters all have their own personal reasons for protesting and sleeping in the streets on the concrete for days on end but as a whole their cohesive message is:

"Occupy Wall Street is [a] leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%."

Although there has been more media coverage on the protest, protesters feel as if they are being ignored by the larger media companies. Why would the media not want to cover this spreading protest?

Although I think that you might be right about he origins of the protest (financial reasons). however, now I think that it has dissolved into chaos. According to CNN (http://edition.cnn.com/2011/10/02/business/wall-street-protests/?hpt=ibu_c2) there are multiple activists groups protesting for different things.
I feel like the protest is not widely covered by the media because some people are making the protest look a little silly (there is an image going around the web that depicts this). Especially since I feel like some people at the protest don't really know what they're protesting. There is a quote from the article that you linked to from a protester that says: "At a certain point, there's a valid criticism in people asking, 'What are you doing here?'" In addition, the lack of a leader or a firm voice also makes the protest seem disorganized and unimportant.

I agree with the comment above. These protests aren't being covered through the media because it'll make the people look bad. It could also have something to do with the fact that the government will also look bad. Protestors wouldn't be protesting without a reason. There must have been something that the government did that triggered these people to hold these protests. I feel that these protests should be covered by the media so the government could take actions to at least lessen the tension among the people and the government.
