It seems pretty clear right now that Obama is against this tax on the AIG bonuses
Here's just a few random things I found that I thought might be "share-worthy"
I think the president would be concerned that this bill may have some problems in going too far -- the House bill may go too far in terms of some -- some legal issues, constitutional validity, using the tax code to surgically punish a small group...That -- that may be a dangerous way to go."
-Jared Bernstein, the vice president's economic adviser
The White House must walk a fine line, because a plan in Congress to tax 90% of the AIG bonuses could scare off the very investors the government needs to make the next phase of the recovery plan work.So what do you think? Should we agree with Obama and follow his opinions, or do you think we should go through with the tax so that "justice" can be served?

wow...i'm opposed to the fact that these bonuses even exist. Although taxing them would make me feel better about the fact that these people are prospering while the majority of the country suffers, it wouldn't necessarily be wise for the the future investment needs of the nation. The powerful and the wealthy, though some are reckless and irresponsible, are still the most powerful and the most wealthy. Our country needs them to get our economy back on track and alienating them at this point would not benefit anyone. Part of me says tax the crap out of them, but another part of me questions how much of a benefit would such an action truly be to our country. In actuality it might hurt us in the long run. In the end I say no to the tax, if there had been a way to prevent the bonuses from the beginning that'd be one thing, but since there wasn't, I say just let them be and hope that they use some of that wealth to help others.
