So here's a little something I found online.
Apparently, First Lady Michelle Obama has decided to grow a new whitehouse organic "kitchen garden" in an attempt to set an example for a "fast-food-nation"
"We're just hoping that a lot of families look at us and say this is
something that they can do and talk to their own kids about and think a little bit critically about the food choices that they make" -Marian Robinson (Obama's mother-in-law)
It's the first working garden at the Whitehouse since Eleanor Roosevelt's WWII "Victory Garden". This may not be earthshaking, but I feel that it's a nice way for the first lady to set an example, considering how much the media loves her / how visible she si right now to the public. Any thoughts / comments?

I really love this idea of an organic-go healthy garden. I think the president is one of the most ispiring and intellectual person out there and it is ideal for the first lady to promote this image for herself, marrying a man who suites these qualities. Michelle Obama is promoting herself just as much as Barack is and so what if her garden does not inspire people to eat healthy. At least people will admire her for her contribution to a healthier nation and will realize how much these people want to help bring America back up from this difficult period of time.
I think that the new whitehouse organic vegetable and fruit garden is a great idea. Americans especially need to eat healthier and who better to set an example than the first lady herself? It's nice to know that Michelle Obama is making a difference. Not only is she working towards providing healthier food for those who dine at the whitehouse, but she is also educating people about nutrition and the benefits of organic, locally grown produce.
I wish I had an organic vegetable and fruit garden is what I have to say:). I hope Americans see this as a step in the right direction and follow her example. Isn't that what citizens look for, someone to set the country on the right foot and promote healthy habits? Good for Michelle Obama, making a difference while only living in the white house for three months. Our country as a whole is over weight, and by showing the white house can eat healthy that should mean the rest of the country can too.
Huh, is she doing this all by herself? Because such things are incredibly difficult especially for an average working family but I guess this gathers positive attention for her but regardless, I fail to see any good that comes of this
