Senate free-for-all on immigration

McConnell

It is currently the responsibility of the Senate to make serious decisions regarding the future of immigration. Mitch McConnell, Senate majority leader, is struggling to unify the senate to make a majority decision. He is allowing an open-ended vote. After the government shut down this seemed to be the only option for attempting to reconcile the partisan differences. Though the Republicans have a majority, Democrats have a large part to play in reaching a decision.

I'm increasingly feeling like the Democratic leadership has literally no idea what it's doing. It keeps talking about how it's going to get a vote on a bill to protect DACA recipients, yet nothing has happened yet. DACA recipients will be losing their protections soon, and something needs to be done.

to my understanding it seems tha the parties still do not know how to work together. the democratic party contonues to be indifferent to the idea that the government is not effective because they refuse to work with the republican party.IF nothing is to be done about the two parties not working together the government is going to shut down again.
