April's job report is the best its been in about 4 years! This is a great sign of recovery in the U.S. economy. This results were much better then anticipated by economists which were expecting about 187,000 new jobs. So far, the job market has been on an upward slope since the beginning of 2010 with 573,000 new jobs. This has been a result of previously discouraged job seekers who dropped out the market but came back to work. Also, about 2/3 of the industry has been adding jobs instead of cutting them.
Despite this upward slope of jobs, this is not making much a dent in the 8.4 million lost jobs between 2008 and 2009. Although, I still find this upward slope a great sign that the economy is finally improving.

This is a great step in our economy. I hope these new jobs will allow more families to spend and then rejuvenate our economy through increased demand. Hopefully this cycle will time perfectly so I'll be able to get a great job out of college!
This is really good to see that it has increased! I think that this is a great step so hopefully we can keep this up and a cycle will continue to keep going so our economy gets better!
Hopefully it goes uphill from here.
It is great to see that things are finally looking up after such a hard economic time. However, I think that we (as in the government) should still work hard and celebrate economic success when this crisis is completely over, not when it has just started to improve. I still can't believe that we lost 8.4 million jobs between 2008-2009. How does something like that happen?
This does sound like good news. But I keep hearing in the news that the jobs that are being gained are temporary. For example I heard on CNN a few days ago that there was a ton of employment for the people who go door by door for the 2010 census. But obviously this will job will only last a few months until the census is done. Hopefully these numbers continue to go up...
Definitely a step towards the positive regarding our economy! Hopefully more jobs will be created and the number of jobs will increase. But this is no time to celebrate. There is still so much our nation has to improve on, including our job situation.
