I think the comments for the article are far more interesting than McCain's stupid words. Either he's ignorant or he's telling a horrible lie. No one will ever know. Actually the reaction I got to this article was similar to the reaction I had when I read this quote.

"Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?"

I don't think that McCain is ignorant. You don't get to be senator for as long as he had and the Republican nominee for President on a charming smile and country wisdom (however deceiving the Bush years and McCain's choice of running mate). This strikes me as a deliberate and calculated lie to undermine Obama and the Democratic congress. The nebulousness of his answer is the real give-away for me.

The comments are quite interesting..
but McCain is really just skewing the actual purpose of TARP. He is truly trying to blame the Democrats for the aiding of our economy, when it is in times of need.
I see the clearest example of the blame game when he does not know who to blame for this "scandal" other than “Paulson and all of them…Geithner, whoever else was in charge"

I agree with Joe that McCain is not ignorant. In order to have gotten as far as he has in life, you need some shred of competence and intelligence. These comments made by McCain were probably because he was either bitter towards the Democrats or he was just trying to shoot them down.
