Most people currently own an iPhone. Apple's newest product (which hasn't been released yet) could cost up to $1000. What's so cool about this new gadget? Well, according to this article, the new phone will have facial recognition, a wider screen, and a 3D camera. Although this may seem unnecessary, consumers already pay almost $900 for a new iPhone. Would you want to buy the new phone? Do you think it's worth it?

I don't think I'll be purchasing the iphone X. I believe it's not a good purchase because technology will always be advancing, and every year there will be something "newer" and more "advanced," costing more and more money. We keep giving our money to unnecessary items when it could be spent in a more useful way.

I will not be buying the new iPhone X. In fact, I still have the iPhone 5s. If anything, I would upgrade to an iPhone 6, because after that model there has not really been much improvement besides a better camera. There has been a plateau in the creativity and innovation of the iPhones, and I do not feel the need to be giving them so much money for a barely improved iPhone. Taking away the headphone jack? Removing ports from the laptops? More money to the company for the adapters.

I do not think I will be purchasing the iPhone X and I do not think that this newer version is worth it because of the cost and the unnecessary accessories. iPhones are continually released and are a hot trend that a majority of the consumer population partakes in. Thus, the iPhone X is not necessary as it is only a momentary craze that users or buyers will initially join and eventually lose interest in. Although the iPhone X may glamour the user with its new features, I regard most of them as mostly inessential, such as facial recognition, because current iPhones can have passwords which is enough for privacy. Additionally, a large sum of $1000, as Marlene addressed, could be used for more helpful or important means.

I don't think that I will be purchasing the iPhone X, but I cannot say that I am not interested and fascinated by these new features. I agree with the people above however that $1,000 does seem like a really huge investment to be paying for something like this phone, since in a couple of years a newer, and more improved version of this will most likely come out. I actually think that the facial recognition, while not entirely necessary, is a really cool feature that I am interested to try out. And while some previous comments have stated that all of these improvements are unessential and a waste of money, I believe that you could argue that for every new technological advancement in our lives. None of it is really essential and necessary- if you argue this, why not just have a flip phone in which you can only call and text?

While the iPhone X has new and exciting technology, I cannot see it drastically increasing my quality of life. I think that there are many benefits to the iPhone X that could make the people who need it lives easier as it does have some handy attributes. Almost all t o most of the aspects are to some degree for pressure, so really I don't feel like having an iPhone is essential to life let alone one with facial recognition.

I am not interested in investing my money into the new iPhone X. Even though some of the features are pretty cool, it can not justify the $1,000 price tag. I have something that is already good enough to hold me over. I feel as if this product is to cater to those that just want to flaunt their cash, just like how some people would buy a $2,000,000 painting for the heck of it.

I see the iPhone X as an example of modern consumerism. This is really just a flashy gadget designed to make a profit off of some people's urge to need to own whatever is the best. Facial recognition is a needless gimmick, with the only use being it lets people feel "hip" when they show it to their friends. If Apple focused on improving their product each year,(moving the power button) there would be an actual reason to make such a large "investment."

The thing about Apple products is that everyone knows the prices will decrease in a few years when newer technologies come out. I agree with many of the comments above that claim the iPhone X is really just there to show off money and to cater to a consumerist culture, because there is nothing in the iPhone X that is game-changing. Smart phones are expensive enough already, so I will definitely not be purchasing one that a thousand dollars.

In my opinion I believe the iphone is not worth buying, at least for me. The features that the new phone provides, while nice, are not enough to justify the very high price. You would imagine with such a high price that there would be more innovative and revolutionary features for the iPhone to have. I also agree with the statements above in that there is always going to be a new and improved phone the next year and the year after that. The best idea would be to save your money and spend it on a phone that you think is good and improved.

I agree with everyone above and do not think the Iphone X is worth it. Not just because I am a Samsung user, which puts me at quite a biased perspective, but because it is not worth it. There are certain features of the Iphone X that I do not believe people actually need in a phone. One example is Facial Recognition. When the whole fingerprint password system launched, it was big and popular because it actually helps with getting access to your phone faster than having to type in a password. However, I'm pretty sure the Facial Recognition won't be as fast or practical as the fingerprint password, nor does it actually have any other benefits.

In my opinion, I think that the new iPhone is not worth it because they are introducing new technology that hasn't been used or tested on such a large scale before. Even though I usually trust Apple with the ability of their products, I think that it would be smart to wait until at least one more generation comes out, so that the usefulness and workability of the iPhone's new features are proven. Besides, whether or not the iPhone is worth it or not, I know my parents wouldn't even think of buying it for such a high price tag, so my opinion wouldn't matter much anyway.

Personally I would not want this Iphone. Of course this new iPhone comes with new features but the they are not justifications of this price tag. Regardless of this price tag, this is probably one of the most beautiful iphones to date. However this Iphone is the more expensive variant. Generally a tech company's top tier product does not have the best feature to price tag ratio. Justification of buying this Iphone comes from the ability to flaunt. Putting such a price tag one of the most popular phones creates a market for those who simply want to prove that they are the biggest of ballers.

I personally don't think this iPhone is worth it, because the few features it adds on are not very significant and will not have a major impact on the way one lives their life. Although facial recognition and a 3D camera sound very futuristic and intriguing, these features are not going to change your life. $1000 for a phone that functions essentially in the same manner as its predecessors is not worth it, as buying a cheaper phone will give your life the same results. However, if someone is carrying a very old phone and wants a fancy upgrade, the iPhone X may be very appealing. However, someone who already owns an iPhone 7 will not benefit from buying an iPhone X.

I would not buy this new phone, at least not any time soon. I don't think paying $1,000 for an iPhone is worth it at all. The price for this new technology device is absolutely ridiculous and only reveals how materialistic us Americans potentially are. Many will head to their local Apple stores days in advance in order to make sure they get their hands on the new iPhone only to join the hype that is surrounding this new product. Typically, such products tend to glitch or have some sort of malfunction so it's only a matter of time before apple releases ANOTHER "new and improved" device. I currently own the iPhone 7 and it works perfectly fine so I have no need to buy another iPhone any time soon, as neither do many others. Ultimately, I believe this is just a "hype" everyone is joining in on but will die down in a matter of weeks.

I can say that I am not going to buy the new iPhone, and I am not really sure if it is worth it to buy it for 1000 dollars. I think that something we have to realize, though, is that although it seems that we are buying a phone for 1000 dollars, the reality is that we are essentially buying a mini-computer for 1000 dollars. At this point, the iPhone has many of the same capabilities of, say, the Mac (which start at somewhere around 1000 dollars depending on the model), and you can do almost everything that you do on a computer on an iPhone. The iPhone even has a nice camera, so it is like buying a camera and a computer for the price of just a Mac. So, if we look at the iPhone in that way, as not just a phone, but really a computer with a camera, maybe it is worth 1000 dollars., or more! I don't really know. At the end of the day, it just depends on how much you value this piece of electronics and how you like to spend your money.
