No, I'm not being weird, I was just trying to make a sarcastic title about that thing that Zach Agoff mentioned. Anyway, we've got lots more to deal with. Who will replace Souter on the supreme court? According to Obama "a pragmatist, not a radical", well that's not too revealing so let's move on. How about... this! This is pretty great

Palin is coming back into our lives. I know I missed her. While I guess it would be pretty cruel to keep her out, I still think it's pretty crazy to have the old dynamic duo back to try and clean up a mess that they definitely helped make. And now Palin has joined the "panel of experts". I would be very interested to have a good interview with some of these GOP guys and ask them some questions. Isn't bringing Palin back into the mix just gonna remind people of the embarrasing interviews and Tina Fey-enacted satires? I'll be surprised if this new Council really does anything at all. To me, it seems like the time to join up with the government and try to make some changes, not make more organizations to complicate the climate.

I think this liberal Californian culture is bringing, and has brought, far too much criticism on Sarah Palin. No joke. Yes, much of it was warranted, but I saw many people tear her apart for the smallest mistakes while blatantly disregarding a certain vice president's blunders. I'm not sure how many people have heard of Biden's wonderfully entertaining statements and his publicity staff's wonderfully entertaining attempts of damage control, but it seems to have been generally "overlooked." Biden was smart during the election process and kept his mouth shut while smiling and nodding at Obama's speeches. But perhaps we should step back and re-examine whether Palin is really that much worse than Biden.
But on the issue at hand, suggesting that the GOP just roll over and "cooperate" with the liberal legislature is essentially telling the republican party to disband and join the democrats under a shining banner of liberal change to socialist policies. No thanks. However bad the GOP candidates were and have been, this is still a 2 party system, and if the Republican party does not believe this liberal legislature will resolve the problems, then why should it blindly support the opposing party?
I agree that the political environment is harsher than perhaps it needs to be, most pointedly the extensive criticism of minor mistakes, especially when the criticism isn't evenly distributed. You also look at blown up media topics such as which dog will Obama choose, and wonder what it is exactly that the world is coming to. A strictly superficial society who cannot see beyond what the media tells them?
On another note I agree that the GOP shouldn't have to or even be pressured to cooperate when they have different views, it's the competition of the political system and the exploration of different methods of solving a problem that are important, even if at the end of the day we still have to make a compromise.
I agree with Derek, Sarah Palin is a very intelligent woman. The way she acted during campaign wasn't all she had to offer. What she was asked to do with her experience was ridiculous, so she had to come out looking, feeling, and sounding, strong. Yeah so she fumbled up some statements (who doesn't, especially when you;ve never been hit with questions on national T.V. before.
This website is also a little biast. I mean come on look at the name "THe Christian Science Monitor" that's not anti republican at all. The Republican party is having a tough time and probaly isn't gonna be in executive power for sometime. Give Sarah Palin and the GOP a break quit being so nigative, all there is in today's politcal discutions is complete negativity. Its comes from both sides too, Michael Moore= Liberals, Michael Savage= Conservatives.
It seems like they are trying to stay in the political game by making this council but it is good hearted. They are obviously trying to help and derek is right, we were just too hard on Palin. She's only human and will make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, even Obama. I disagree that she is like Biden at all because he has experience and knows how to be professional in front of America. Palin was humorous and enjoyable. I hope they can do good from their council. They were potentially going to be the leaders of our country so I have personally have some faith. And yeah that website was biast for sure.
