While this clip was very funny, I'm not sure what the end of it (where colbert scolds god for being dutch) has to do with Zach's post. Still, I learned something new--who Rush Limbaugh is. I was unaware of his existence previously. It seems the Bush adminstration's stupidity rubbed off on some of the other members of the epublican party. I mean, confusing the Declaration of Independence with the Constitution? Really? I just hope Limbaugh doesn't run for president--it would end the USA if he succeeded, in my opinion.

I was kind of worried that the Colbert Report and John Stewart would have to end their programs after Bush left because they would not have enough to talk/make fun of about, but i guess i was wrong. Although, i think that Rush Libaugh's comment might have been taken out of context and that is what made it so absurd; if it was not then Rush Limbaugh needs to brush up a little on his history.
I did not know who Rush Limbaugh was either and after researching him I do not think he is a very nice guy. For example, he went on his radio show and accused Michael J. Fox of over exaggerating his symptoms of Parkinson's disease. So for that reason and a few others, i think it is probably quite painful and embarrassing to the Republican Party to be associated so closely with him.

This clip was insightful in that it illustrated very well the fact that politicians are deified as highly educated individuals who know the ins and outs of United States government. However, obviously they can make mistakes such as confusing the constitution with the declaration of independence and misquoting part of the declaration of the independence.
Also, Rush Limbaugh is a bit infamous for making inaccurate claims. For example, the group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), alleges 50 different distortions in Limbaugh's commentary. In addition, Al Franken, a liberal comedian who became a politician, has also written a satirical book making fun of Limbaugh's lack of accuracy.

Great clip! The part where Rush Limbaugh confuses Constitution with the Declaration of Independence is my favorite. I guess it goes to show that just because you were elected to office doesn't mean you know everything about the government. Though you would think they should since they are running it.

This was amusing and showed that people in government do not know what they are talking about nor care to correct themselves. If you are going to work in government I think you should know the Declaration of Independence vs. the Constitution. And I agree with Sterling and Ana because this guy a complete jerk. I definately gooogled him and he is a jerk. I "tip my hat" to Colbert because he introduced Rush Limbaugh to many viewers and I learned something new.

I love Stephen Colbert. Rush? I love them too. Tom Sawyer is a great song. As for Rush Limbaugh? Eh....not so much. Why don't I like Limbaugh? For reasons other than this video.

Remember, for every time Rush Limbaugh confuses the Constitution with the Declaration of Independence, Obama thinks that there are 57 states in the union (Don't believe me? Look it up). But who cares? Pointing out other peoples mistakes (especially high-profiled figures) is comical. And Stephen Colbert does a great job of satirizing it. However, that shouldn't be reasons for which we judge the validity of someone's ideology. Believe me, there are plenty of things ideology-wise to criticize Limbaugh. As for the statement that Limbaugh is the "leader of the Republican party"....well, Kanye West calls himself the "Voice Of This Generation." Do you agree? I sure don't.

Rush Limbaugh prob. isnt the most intelligent man to represent the Republican party but he's a really loud voice and he didn't rise to popularity because he's an idiot. He's kind of like a safety zone for middle age white republicans who are paranoid about obama's stimulus plan. Many republican feel like their party is collapsing (somewhat true) so they seek a radical strong appealing leader (think of Germany electing hitler or Italy with Mussalini. Rush Limbaugh (no matter how many of his comments you don't like)is the closest thing for comfort for conservatives.

Also I hate the Colbert Report and the Daily show specifically for his comments on the end of the clip. Really, what a prick.
