To Build a Better Ballot and Other Inventions of Nicky Case

A bit late, but in the spirit of the midterms (and really AP Gov in general) I've found Nicky Case's simulations pretty fascinating.  "To Build a Better Ballot" (an exploration of different voting systems) is particularly relevant to this class, but "The Evolution of Trust" uses game theory to explore the difficulties of building trust in society and "Parable of the Polygons" examines segregation and bias using some very adorable squares and triangles.  I definitely think they're worth looking at if you've got spare time on your hands--they're entertaining, they're well-designed, and they're very insightful.

These interactive guides are great! I had previously only seen the trust one, but I agree that it's important for us to understand these issues better, and improve on them, and a better voting system is the only way to do so.

Ranked choice is already in use in 3 California city municipal elections, so it may be coming to more areas of the country, hopefully.
