4 senators of Congress have called out Al Franklin to resign. After multiple women have came out reporting Al of inappropriately touching them, Senator Kirsten Gilligan stated on social media that stepping down to let someone else serve would set a good role model for our country.AL Franklin was accused in November, when first accuser Leeann Tweeden had explained to the press about him  kissing her. After than incident, more people had came out with pictures describing their scenarios of him inappropriately touching them.By the end of November, Franklin had been accused by 5 different women on multiple occasions describing his inappropriate behavior
representatives believe that congress does not have the necessary tools to represent what the people want in this situation.in the span of 30 minutes, 10 senators had desired him to resign.

questions:
1. misconduct in congress is a mild parallel to the allegations of Bill Clinton. Seeing the product of impeachment for Bill Clinton, should Franklin be resigned?
2.up to 10 senators came out agreeing with his resignation,is this a bias opinion of the senate knowing he is  a democrat?

I believe that sexual harassment should not be tolerated at all from anyone, especially if that person is a United States Senator, and that Al Franken should be resigned. There is no good justification for this kind of behavior. I think that this case is worse than the sex scandal with Bill Clinton and Mr. Lewinsky because Franken made multiple women feel very uncomfortable.

I do not think the senators that want to resign him are biased. I do not think any United States is unreasonable enough to actually vote for someone's resignation.

Regardless of if the senators are biased for asking him to resign, I believe that Al Franklin should resign anyways. I agree with the senators in that resignation is the best option. Any type of sexual harassment is obviously wrong and shouldn't be tolerated under any circumstance, even more so with the position he holds. Because of this, a resignation should be expected; he definitely should not be allowed to continue because that would make it seem that behavior like this is acceptable.

I don't think that his position as a Democrat is the main reason for senators requesting his resignation, but it may be a factor. I do think that Al Franklin should resign because sexual harassment is illegal. Even though some of the statements are labeled as "accusations," the images that have surfaced are pretty concrete evidence that he did sexually harass his some of the women. While he cannot be forced to resign, I think resigning would be the noble thing to do.

Franken (not Franklin) should definitely resign because he along with the other men that sexually harass women present a very negative, unprofessional image of the government. However, I am not sure what sexual harassment has to do with political parties, because I believe that both Kamala Harris and Al Franken are from the Democratic party. I think it's good that the Democrats are holding each other accountable for their actions rather than defending him in order to maintain power.

I believe Franken should definitely resign. Along with this whole "#metoo" movement, where many women have gained the courage to speak up against sexual harassment from men, I think it is incredibly important that any person, no matter who they are, should be held accountable for their actions. Yes, the Senators might be biased but in this case it doesn't matter for even Democrats should think Franken should resign and be held accountable.

I think that this long continuation of sexual accusations and harassment and no follow-through or nothing being done about the situation, or at least nothing is publicized about it, is somewhat an issue because it's kind of being normalized that people aren't finding this a big deal anymore on a broad scale. Franken should definitely hurry up and resign because this kind of behavior is disgusting.

I believe that Franken should resign. I don't think it compares to the Bill Clinton case because Bill Clinton had consent from the woman, while Franklin had no type of consent. I think this behavior should not be tolerated whatsoever. he should definitely resign.

I strongly agree with the above comments that this behavior should not be tolerated and he should resign immediately. It is horrible that these leaders who represent our country are behaving this way and thinking they can get away with it due to their status. This type of behavior is not okay and even if he doesn't resign now, his career is pretty much over as a scandal this big usually won't be ignored by the public. And in response to your second question, I guess Franklin's political party may have something to do with the 10 senators who came out agreeing to his resignations, as most of them were Republicans, however, I think that this issue goes past the issue of political parties and the polarization in America. I believe that no matter what political standing one has, they should not stand by someone who sexually harasses and sets this type of example as a powerful leader of our country.

I agree with what everyone has said, and would also like to additionally point out that our elected officials represent us as voters. I think this is partially why the upcoming special election in Alabama is so frightening. If a majority of voters in Alabama are able to look past the fact that Roy Moore has been accused of sexual assault, this reflects very badly on our values. Our country has been taking some large steps towards changing the culture surrounding sexual assault, but if we continue to allow sexual harassers or potential harassers to represent us in our government, we have not taken enough steps forward into the future. We need the people making laws in our country, and the people representing us as citizens to be respectful and appropriate.

Franken should resign because the clear and numerous accusations are alarming. It’s extremely saddening to see how so many accounts of sexual harassment have occurred and have just come to light in the recent months. It is important for Franken to not hold his power in the Senate because I believe it sets a precedent for what’s tolerated and allowed of people in high authority in government. I don’t believe that this involves party bias because in any case sexual harassment must not be condoned. It’s reassuring to see how other senators and those he works with and is associated with are not backing him up for their sake, but rather because of his unacceptable actions.

Like Ashley said, these accusations are alarming! Being accused once is different than be accused 5 times!! Sexual harassment is a serious matter and shouldn't be taken lightly as a joke. He should resign because by staying in the Senate, he is not a proper representation of us as a country. Franklin's behavior is unacceptable and will not be condoned of regardless of his status. I think this issue goes past the issue of party polarization because sexual harassment is not tolerated and can't and won't be ignored.

Due to the recent wake of sexual harassment allegations on Captial Hill I believe that Franklin's behavior is completely unacceptable. Anyone who has evidently violated these laws and simple code of conduct should be punished and in this case removed of their position. I believe that any political leader should be held to the highest standard under the law and should also be punished as so.

I believe that he should resign. Being accused five different times is very disturbing and increases it's validity. Like Ashley said, it sets sexual harassment as acceptable and something someone on Capital Hill can do without punishment. He should be punished and step down.

Franken should resign for his misconduct. Having a congressional role or any high role is not a valid excuse to performing inappropriate acts. This shows that Franken is not fit for the title nor would he be capable of serving as a good role model for such. While the senators are right for wanting to push his resignation, their opinions aren’t necessary in the first place since the action to be taken here appears to be obvious as this is not a first, second or third offense. Therefore, I believe it is irrelevant whether the senators’ opinions were biased or not.

I think that Franklin should resign. This is not a person that should be making any decisions about this country. I also think that if he was to stay it would send a message that people like this can get away with acting this way, someone like Franklin is a role model for this country and the way he acts influences many people and we do not want more sexual harrasment, we want less of it and therefore he should resign.

Yeah, agreeing with everyone above on this topic, I also believe that he should resign. Not only will this send a message to the citizens of the United states that sexual harassment is not right (which everyone should know already), but it would also allow the public to have a little bit more confidence in our government. Government and public trust is important and if we let this slide, then the public will just hate the government more and more. Not only for his own sake, but to set an example for all others.

I fully agree that he should resign. I would think many people a well as myself would not want anyone with sexual harassment allegations against them to represent them in Congress. Not only do I believe he should resign, but also Congress should have zero tolerance for this type of behavior in order to have representation we can be proud of.
