I'm pretty sure it was still a conspiracy.

I just think its interesting that there is a whole committee devoted to assassinations. Also, couldn't some random guy have decided that it would be cool to claim the Umbrella Man's title? It would be pretty hard to positively identify him from the blurry photos. The supposed Umbrella Man's explanation explaining why he opened the umbrella is just so ridiculous.

Conspiracy theory or not, the events associated with the assassination with JFK certainly are mysterious. And although the theories may be crazy, they sure are interesting.
Maybe the Umbrella Man is who he says he is, maybe it's something more. Maybe it's as Simone said and this guy isn't even the same guy.
We'll never know exactly what happened that day. And maybe it's better that we don't. Either way, the theories are very intriguing to me.

The guy's message, I believe, is that we should not create conspiracies based off of assumptions. As for The idea of the umbrella man... Something is wrong with something... It is so ridiculous both ways, also, why single out someone who (if he hadn't said why he had the umbrella) in the first place could've been taking it old school and just having an umbrella to block out the sun like who women did in earlier centuries, after all, it does get hot in Texas.

I felt this was an excellent video, and I thank Gabe for bringing it to discussion. While this conspiracy theory might have been proven false, it hardly stops conspiracy theorists elsewhere from continuing their very creative work, especially with their beliefs surrounding JFK’s assassination. I loved the diagram shown in the video, of the umbrella with the secret compartment; that truly made me laugh out loud. Perhaps the narrator from the video was making a commentary on the nature of conspiracies themselves, in so much that it is foolhardy to attempt to account for all unknown circumstances, for you inevitably come to create certain material fact that simply does not exist. I will concede however, that conspiracy theories are often interesting, if not downright hilarious.
