Chinese Spy Balloon over Nuke Silos

Earlier this week, a large white balloon was spotted flying over Central US, flying from Alaska down to Billings, Montana. Officials suspect it to be a surveillance ship sent by the Chinese, hovering around 60,000 feet above the ground, flying over the nuclear missile silos and other restricted areas around Montana. It was observed changing courses but wasn't deemed to be a threat. In a statement from the Pentagon, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said they spoke to Chinese officials, who claimed it was a civilian airship that got turned around. Brig. Gen Ryder disagrees, and while he maintains that its not a threat, shooting it down would cause falling debris that has the potential to harm civilians. He reiterates that anything observed would be useless due to the altitude and there wasn't anything there that existing low orbit satellites wouldn't have already observed.

Obviously this giant, slow, white weather balloon is a serious threat to national security. This is why we need to triple the military budget and continue sending warplanes into Chinese airspace. The Chinese communists are dangerous!! They could have more weather balloons!! I recommend we increase the number of weather balloons we have to match the number the Chinese have. I say we invest much more time and money into improving our meteorology tech in general. It's the only way to counter communist aggression. This incident was in no way overblown to continue fearmongering about China.

I saw an interesting perspective on China's aggression recently. China has not been to war in over 40 years, last engaging in Vietnam. The U.S on the other hand has been in and out of fighting in the middle east for the last 20 years. Something to think about when the U.S military is constantly talking about how scared we have to be about China. Maybe this fear is just a factor of the military industrial complex.

I do believe that it seems a little suspicious it was in the US airspace and the US military did end up shooting down the balloon when there was no threat of falling debris hurting civilians. But I believe that the balloon got fewer data on the US than the US got from the balloon was a statement the FBI made about the matter of the balloon.
