Are the Miami Heat done for?

First of all most of my posts on this blog will be about sports to give something new to the blog.
I've been reading lately that the "Dream Team" in Miami is falling apart because they are relying too much on D Wade and L James and even they have lower numbers then they had last year. "Because there's such a massive gap between the talent level of LeBron/Wade and everyone else, Miami is leaning heavily on two players to do it all. Big minutes, plus big responsibility, equals lots of tread wear." C Bosh has been falling apart with this Miami team..."Chris Bosh has shrunken from a center to a power forward to a small forward in just a matter of weeks, and at this rate, will soon be able to look Muggsy Bogues in the kneecaps." At the beginning of the season many people believed that they would be the team to beat but now they seam like the team people make fun of and look down on. They are currently in 3rd place in their division and have a lower record then the Warriors (Wow!) and they don't have any all-star players. So I guess money can't buy everything as we saw in the California race, maybe Pat Riley should have learned something from Meg Whitman.

I completely agree with you cris. I also personally do not like the Heats. However from an objective point of view I think that its not only what you stated but also that there was too much hype towards them and I think that the pressure might be getting to them. Even though I do not think that they will do well as expected I would be really suprised if they do not make playoffs.

The "Dream Team" was meant to take this NBA season to a whole other level. I mean, how could the combination of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh be doubtful? The Big Three were supposed to take Miami as one of the greatest NBA trios down in history. Unfortunately, the Heat are in a bit of a conflict. They currently stand at 6 wins with 4 losses. Definitely not what I expected. As of now, the Boston Celtics and LA Lakers surpassed Miami's standings, even our Golden State Warriors are doing better than them! However, despite their rocky start, people should not give up hope on the Heat. I personally think they're going to get their game together and shine in the later season. All in all, the Miami Heat are not done for, but they're for sure in a struggle.

And that unnecessary criticism of Whitman just had to be thrown in there, right? Despite what you may think, she was a perfectly viable candidate for governor.

I agree with Josh (and Ryan too, consequently! ;) ). The season is far from over and the biggest issue I think they have to deal with is team chemistry. I mean, c'mon let's be realistic! You can't throw three NBA All-Stars, and arguably future Hall Of Famers, together and expect them to go out and win every game? They need time to get used to the reduced reliance their team has for them and move forward from there. So what if they're 6-4? They still need to play 72 more games. The thing I'd be most worried about is going up against them in the playoffs when they're a well-oiled machine and the Big 3 can play off each other and use each other to the best of their ability. With all that being said, I must say that I am not really a big NBA fan, lol, but just a big basketball fan! Thanks Cris for adding a new dimension to the blog!

What a delightful political reference toward the bottom of the post. All I have to say is, it's really disappointing. LeBron's team decision was such a big craze. Every one practically had eyes on him. And now look at him.

quitness.

Despite what everyone else commented, I don't think the Heat is going to shape up enough, atleast in time for this years playoffs. I think the Meg Whitman reference was perfect and definitely fit. The three big stars know they are stars and want to continue to be the star of the team. I think it's going to be very difficult for them to come together and play as a team and learn to share the spotlight.

meg whitman was "a perfectly viable candidate for governor", but were poking more fun at her dropping $140+ mil on her gubernatorial campaign than her politics.

ok back to basketball.. blahh.. really did wish that Miami would live up to what people pictured it to be. I want to see something new! LAKERS and CELTICS basketball has been one of the most entertaining spectacles i have seen, but come on, we've seen it before. And when I mean live up to what people picture it to be, i mean like be truly in contention for a championship season, not like where it was kind of lob-sided when orlando went to the finals with the lakers.... that team was not as experienced.

but with miami, you have some real experienced talent that just won't get it together. the supporting cast of players on the floor isn't as strong as it was in cleveland or when the heat won it all oh so many years ago against dallas. give it some time... it's only november
