Solar Flares, A Real Threat

The Sun's cycle is ending. This means that there will be a large increase in radiation that will effect everything from space travel to airplanes. Also, it can and may interfere with satellites and power plants. This meaning that it may cause changes in flight paths and thus an increase in prices for the extra fuel used at lower altitudes. Also, with the solar flares and radiation possibly affecting satellites devices such as GPS devices and phones may go offline or at least be hampered, requiring more maintenance, more problems, and more pain. We have never experienced this phenomenon in today's modern age which is based heavily on electronics. This will undoubtedly cause problems in the future and I find this as a setback for any attempt at a turnaround in this economy.
